SATB/piano - also can be sung a cappella - traditional - arr. Keith Murphy and Peter Amidon

Performed here by the Starry Mountain Singers (with Cora Kelly and Peter & Mary Alice Amidon).  Earlier in the year Peter heard Keith lead this song with some young fiddlers and singers, Keith accompanying them on piano. Peter was struck by Keith's harmonization and did this SATB arrangement based on Keith's harmonies, and later transcribed Keith's piano part from the Last Night Concert performance. You get both the SATB/piano score and the vocal score.  This also works fine a cappella. Here are some other interpretations of this classic:

LYRICS

Wild Mountain Thyme
traditional

Oh the summertime is coming, and the trees are sweetly blooming,
And the wild mountain thyme grows around the purple heather,
Will you go, lassie, go.

CHORUS
And we'll all go together, to pull wild mountain thyme
All around the blooming heather,
Will you go Lassie, go.

I will build my love a bower, by yon clear crystal fountain,
And on it I will pile, all the flowers of the mountain,
Will you go, Lassie, go.

If my true love, she was gone, I would surely find no other,
To pull wild mountain thyme all around the blooming heather,
Will you go, Lassie, go.
